Officially Announcing the new studio!

Many of you already know that over the fall and into the winter we were busy building a new photography studio.  To be perfectly correct, “we” didn’t build it, but the guys over at Cloverdale Construction did.  Ground breaking was on my birthday in late October (Happy Birthday to me) and the last truck drove down our driveway on December 31st!  As all my close friends know, this is an absolute dream come true.  If you had asked me a year ago what I see myself doing next year, it wouldn’t even be close to this reality now.  I have been so blessed with loyal clients. Without your generous word of mouth referrals, none of this would have been possible.

The new studio is approximately 1200 square feet.  It used to be a “workshop” attached to our garage.  Paul willingly gave it up when I had ideas of turning the downstairs of our house completely into a studio!  The new space has a reception area with a huge picture window for waiting, playing, taking a break or what ever you’d like!  The studio space has 10 foot ceilings (a dream) and is large enough for a family to hang out and torture their teenage son while he gets his pictures taken!  There is of course a bathroom with room to change a baby or even have a high school senior with many many outfits to take her own sweet time primping.  I have a huge storage space to put away all the props (if only I had shelving…one thing at a time).  Then there is a loft too.  The loft will be a nice cosy area where I will be doing all my purchasing sessions.

We will be having an open house when things green up a little around here (June!) so stay tuned for more information on the fun to come.

For those of you that have  3 minutes, here is a  slideshow of the “Building of a photograhy Studio”. Just click on the arrow in the middle and give it a sec to load. There is music too so turn on your volume!
