My kids LOVE to be in the studio. Unlike most children I photograph, they are always begging me to take pictures of them! Often I don’t because I hate to say it…it sometimes feels like work. I am much better at capturing them with my little point and shoot during random moments of the day. But, we went back-to-school shopping and they convinced me that it would be a great idea to do a back-to-school photo session. I couldn’t disagree. The girls had a blast choosing their outfits and the backgrounds to go with them. You’ll see a lot on a new backdrop I have which is an old architectural door. The kids love it. Griffin didn’t last very long but the girls were still raring to go when I was ready to call it quits! If only I could convince other children that having your picture taken can be a blast. Here is a short video (3.5 mins) of the pictures from our session.

I met Sonia about two years ago. She first came to me right after she started walking. She was so full of energy and had lots of amazing expressions. Seeing Sonia last week was such a nice treat for me. She is now three and an amazing little girl. She is sweet, polite, fully of curiosity and so fun to chat with. I heard all about her new special necklace, her favorite colors (pink and purple) and her new beautiful dress which her Grandmother gave her. She called all the flowers ”ice cream cone flowers”! Both strawberry and vanilla flavor! We do have an over abundance of echinacea plants…if only they were ice cream cones YUM!

Mr. Jack and his Momma came for a visit earlier this week. Jack is 2 and a half and such a sweet little boy. He had none of the “terrible two’s” in him – not that I really believe in that (everyone knows it happens at 3!) He had lots of smiles for me and was very curious about everything. Why did I have an outlet in the middle of the room? Why do I have chains hanging from my backdrops? Why did I have a big truck in the studio? Why would I put a baby in it? Ha ha – these are all very valid questions. I loved all the questions – keep them coming! It keeps me on my toes and helps me stay connected with these curious bundles of energy. I hope I get to see you again Mr. Jack, the pleasure was all mine.

Sweet little Madeline came to the studio with her mom and dad last week. She was full of smiles but also a little shy. What do you do with a giggly shy little toddler? You give her lots of mommy and daddy cuddles, a little bit of swinging and some crackers to make her happy. I love the connection that she has with her family, you can see how much fun they all have together. Here are some images from our session.

Little Miss Anna first came to the studio when she was perhaps 8 months old. She looks just about the same but has much more hair and of course she if full or words to tell us about her world.
The last time we saw each other we photographed Anna in the studio. This time we had a sweet session in our flower garden. It was quite hot out but she didn’t seem to mind at all. She was very inquisitive about our bridge and the garden fairy. She also made great friends with our cat and dog. Here are a couple of captures from the session.
